Just heard that a Shabu Shabu Restaurant is going to be opening! So excited. I love Shabu Shabu!

My great grandmother passed away today. Nobody called me. I only found out when my Grams called to ask me to look up airline phone numbers so she could call to find out bereavement prices. She just assumed my mother would’ve told me. As usual I find out everything family related by accident…or Kelsey tells me (or I tell her).

Today I went on Mysterious Galaxy’s website because I knew they usually posted author signings for events. And guess who is on the list for Sunday? Wil Wheaton.

I found out today that Ben Barnes aka Prince Caspian will be there Saturday. So I’m bummed I’m missing that.

However, Wil Wheaton on Sunday makes up for that. I’m excited because I’ve been wanting to read his books.

Okay all you book people…the L.A. Times Festival of Books author list is out and I don’t really recognize many authors this year. If you have the time, can you glance at the list and let me know if there are any you’d recommend I try to check out? I’ll be going on Sunday this year instead of Saturday (have a wedding to attend Saturday).

Came home to my 2008 Prince Edward Island Packet which I ordered back in November. Not sure why they are just now sending them out. My mom sees it and tells me that she just found out that she could’ve only taken 2 courses this summer instead of 4 at Claremont.

So we could’ve gone to PEI which makes me a little sad.

I still can’t believe she’s taking a 4 classes this summer in one month. Basically it’s like taking 12 units in 4 weeks. Which is crazy. She has to have papers written for each of course before they even start.

It’s so satisfying to figure out how to code a website with new program. Too bad it’s not for one of my sites. The only downside is now my brain is jumping around unable to concentrate.

Are any of you on Good Reads? If so, mine is here. I made the mistake of uploading all of my books from my database at once and so things are not sorted and not all my books were found (too old and ISBN-less). Need to organize a lot.

Found out one of the kids (who isn’t a kid anymore–he’s 18) I used to babysit is doing drugs. His mom was suspicious and when she asked him if he was using, he actually told her the truth. I’m glad that his parents found out and hopefully he can get some help.

I just wanted to thank everyone who has been posting their reports for those of us who weren’t there! Someday I’ll be able to attend a Supernatural event…but until then, thank you for sharing!

PS: all my girls I normally go to fandom stuff with…how come y’all aren’t watching Supernatural?!?! I’ll have to find roommates if you guys don’t go!

Why is it that people will get an awesome experience — something most people would love to have — and they complain about what else didn’t happen?

Five black kittens were born last night. Anyone want a kitten? I’ll tame it for you…well, as tame as a black cat can get…

I found out about a program in Bakersfield that takes feral cats to get fixed at a cheaper rate if you trap them & bring them in. It’s about $25 per cat. I think our local animal control rents out traps so I’m going to have to find out how much. There is a local store that does this for stray dogs in town but not cats. Maybe I need to work on them to convince them to take the cats too.
